ABOUT

We are a Montessori Christian School

The primary purpose of this Beginnings & Beyond is to educate the whole child in a Christian environment. Our mission is to provide a quality Montessori program for children 2 years to 6 years of age, with a Christian emphasis throughout the curriculum. Our aim is for all children in our care to be nurtured and develop an awareness of God's love and concern in all areas of their lives. Through the Montessori Method, we aim to guide each child's independence, self-discipline and social skills helping them to love learning. B&B also helps parents to understand and guide their young children through various developmental stages.

We are a Montessori Christian School. The Montessori philosophy goes beyond what a typical daycare provides; we are a school.  We teach each child at their individual development level. We guide each child’s independent thinking, and give him/her many opportunities for experimentation and problem solving. The teachers lead the children in ways that build good self esteem and encourage optimum learning.

Our Vision is to offer the best Montessori school for both teachers and students to grow in to meet their full potential.

Toddler (24 months-3 years old)

In our Toddler rooms we focus on gross and fine motor, socialization, and independence which creates the foundation for future learning in your child. Children are introduced to similar Montessori areas as the pre-primary class yet at a developmentally appropriate level.

Pre-primary Curriculum (3-6 years old)

Our Pre-primary curriculum is designed to help children, three to six years old learn to live together by sharing and cooperating. Older children are encouraged to befriend the younger ones. Conflict resolution exercises are taught and followed. A full range of Montessori educational materials include practical life sensorial, math, language, geography, science, and art can be found in the environment. The multi age environment fosters social skills.

In both classrooms we weave a Christian emphasis such as Bible lessons, grace, morning prayers, and songs into the daily curriculum.  Our classrooms have low shelves for children to reach each work. During our work cycle we expect children to seek out their own work and work on it as independently as possible, or in a small group if the activity is a group activity. As teachers, we do direct children to appropriate work as needed giving options or invited them to join us.

In each classroom we implement The Montessori Uninterrupted Work Period (click on the link to learn more).
